How to share account access with an agency safely

Updated 5 minute read

The short answer

Give an agency the least access it needs, in a way you can take back at any time. Use your platform’s own team or manager access if it offers one, keep two-factor authentication on your own device, never let payout or bank details change, and change your password and remove access as soon as you stop working together.

Use the platform’s own access options first

Some platforms let you add team members or managers without sharing your password, and let you remove them later. Where that exists, it is the safest option because you can see who has access and take it away instantly. [VERIFY: current team or manager access features on OnlyFans and Fansly]

If you do share a password

  • Use a unique password that you have never used anywhere else.
  • Keep two-factor authentication on, linked to your own phone.
  • Share it through a password manager rather than a message.
  • Change it the day the working relationship ends.

Protect your payouts

Payout and bank details should never change. Turn on any alerts your platform offers for changes to payment or login details, and check your payout settings every month. Any agency that asks to receive your payouts is a red flag, as our guide to choosing an agency explains.

Keep a record of who can see what

Write down who has access, what they can do and when it was given. Review it every few months, and remove anyone who no longer needs it.

Common questions about creator account security

Not if you keep control of the email address, the password and two-factor authentication. Never hand over the email address the account is registered to.

Change your password, sign out of all sessions, check your payout details and contact the platform’s support team straight away.
